No sound output VLC-TELNET after update 2023.6.0

So after yesterdays update VLC-TELNET addon does not breathe anymore.

After almost three years flawless service, we have no more TTS announcements.

The addons says this:

There are some errorsā€¦

The VLC media player looks, like there is nothing wrong, says it is playing a file, but no sound is coming out of the speakers.

After that attempt (only one), addon logs says this many times:

i have this problem too. I tried both the usb sound card and the output on the pi, there is no sound. It happened after I upgraded to 2023.06.

Well, no reactions from the devā€™s, they are busy with command_line and bluetooth troubles. We have to waitā€¦

This is truly unfortunate. I just moved houses and built up a new HA instance with the intention of using this feature. Hopefully they recognize this is an issue. I completely understand bugs occur.

I have created an alarm system using vlc and tts, but now the audio part is not working. I have to change the audio part of the alarm system. I guess itā€™s not very reliable for the alarm system.

Hello

Same error also after upgrade to HA supervisor 2023.6.0. It was working for 2 years and now we have nor TTS nor radio.
I have opened the VLC report : main decoder error: failed to create audio output Ā· Issue #4355 Ā· home-assistant/supervisor Ā· GitHub as bug and wait.

Iā€™m having same problem with MPD trying to play audio on my Home Assistant host. I suspect same root problem, based on the timing of the failure being the same version release.

Looks like the previously mentioned bug with sound output is found and solved, we hope on a quick release nowā€¦ :wink:

This is again broken for me. It kinda plays but stutters a lot, so that I can hear it is playing.
Browser plays media ok.
